Ray White New Zealand once again took part in the Sky Tower Stair Challenge held on August 10 to raise funds for Leukemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand. Ray White New Zealand has been a part of this amazing initiative since 2013 and this year, the Step Up challenge event proudly raised an incredible $425,113.
This year’s team, The Ray White Racers was led by CEO Carey Smith along with team members Wayne Maguire (Ray White Mission Bay), Delanie Horrobin (Ray White City Apartments), Gina Colcord (Ray White Parnell) and John Tanner (Ray White City Apartments) together fundraising an impressive $24,556.
The Sky Tower Stair Challenge is an annual event which involves running up the Sky Tower’s 51 flights of stairs, raising crucial funds and awareness for Leukemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand. Every day, six children and adults in New Zealand are diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
A national organisation committed to supporting patients and their families, Leukemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand receives no government funding, so events such as the Step Up Challenge are important to raise funds. Each year the funds raised go towards helping the charity grow – helping them support patients and families, provide information and educational sessions for the community and also to fund research about the disease.
We would like to thank everyone who supported the Ray White teams this year and for those who made a donation.
