2010 Spring Campaign Launched
The Ray White Group in New Zealand is proud to announce our 2010 marketing and promotion campaign. The campaign is designed to give all Ray White clients, with the assistance of their local Ray White Real Estate Office, the ability to market their property and to increase profile, presentation and buyer response within a targeted period with upgraded promotion and also subsidised rates.
2010 so far has shown properties that are well marketed through controlled concepts, both online and through media, have very good buyer response. This campaign, through national and local media together with online marketing and property promotion, is designed to maximise buyer response to each and every property that Ray White is currently marketing as well as for those clients who are considering listing their property with Ray White.
The campaign will run during September and each Ray White licensee salesperson has information on the campaign. We believe supporting our clients with increased buyer response will inevitably lead to more success for property sales on behalf of Ray White clients.
For further information please contact anyone of our 134 Ray White offices, who will provide information on our 2010 marketing and promotion campaign.
Market Share and Industry Sales Update
2010 has been an inconsistent year for sales numbers in the New Zealand real estate industry. After hitting highs of over 90,000 sales per annum in 2007, sales dipped considerably to just over 55,000 in 2008. 2009 saw a recovery in part to 69,000 sales.
During the first two months of 2010 the market showed signs it was going to continue to make up for lost ground, however this has not occurred. The second quarter of 2010 recorded one of the lowest sales months since records were taken and this was emphasised with the release of June residential sales numbers, being 4,517. Year to date sales numbers total 29,468 which, if replicated in the second half of the year, would indicate annual sales of 58,000. As this is similar to 2008 it may cause some changes within the industry and the way we operate. It has long been held that the real estate industry is one that is vulnerable to market conditions, and towards the end of 2008 there were real estate offices which needed to retract and many did so and even closed their operations.
For the Ray White Group and the way we react to these times is important. We measure our performance on market share and this is determined by our listings and sales for each of the areas across New Zealand. In June we produced a record result for the Auckland market with 21.7% market share being achieved by Ray White members. Across New Zealand our market share also continues to grow, Read the rest of this entry »

Further Slowing in Sales for May
The Ray White Group saw a reduced number of sales for May 2010 of 18% in comparison to the May results in 2009. In comparison to last month, property sales fell by 9%.
The top office for the month was Manukau who completed close to $20 million in sales turnover and listed over 160 properties for the month. Ponsonby were No 2 with Remuera, Albany and Howick featuring as National Top 5 businesses. Offices that achieved the highest zone area increase included Mangawhai, Hamilton City, Palmerston North, Motueka, Christchurch Commercial and Queenstown. Our marketing presence increased by 18% and this is measured on the overall presence in key media throughout New Zealand.
The lower volume of sales is attributed to the budget announcement and a general lack of confidence in the investment sector of property. The results in the listing stock saw an increase from 12 months ago of 18% and ahead by 3% on April 2010. The number of new listings linked to the lower level of sales volume continues to show a consistent market for buyers and for sellers. Days on Market are expected to increase while available proeprty levels grow. The Ray White Group results were better than the industry with reporting from realestate.co.nz which has shows in their Property Report for May 2010 that listings fell by 4% to 11,733 from last month and from the same time last year increased by 17%.
The Ray White Group in New Zealand has had 3 new offices opened during the past month. The new offices are Wanganui and Kapiti in the Lower North Island with Sandringham opening in Auckland. The Group now has 134 Offices with 1408 Salespeople and 184 Property Managers.
