Carey Smith

Chief Executive Ray White New Zealand

Becoming involved in the real estate industry at the age of 17, Carey has spent his time predominantly with the Ray White Group as a salesperson, franchise owner, development manager and since 1997 as the Chief Executive of New Zealand operations.  In recent times he has also taken responsibility for the growth of the Ray White Group Asian operations.   His corporate career started in Sydney in 1990 as a development manager and auctioneer.  In 1994, after running a business for two years he became involved with the Western Australian operations to amalgamate and merge Mair & Co and Peet & Co into Ray White.  In 1996 Carey came to New Zealand on behalf of Ray White when the company traded through NZ with 58 offices as United Realty.  In late 1997 he took leadership of the operation with the conversion through to Ray White United and subsequently Ray White Real Estate.  Today the NZ group stands at 132 offices transacting approximately $5.2 billion worth of property.  The company has shown continued growth which now sees the business as one of the preeminent real estate groups in New Zealand.

Cheryl Hayes

New Zealand Marketing Executive

Cheryl joined the Ray White corporate team in January 2014 – after more than 8 years as a Marketing Manager for an independent Northland real estate agency.  In 2011 she assisted in the agency’s own rebrand to Ray White, and in 2013 was awarded the New Zealand Administrator of the Year title with Ray White New Zealand.  Cheryl has lived and worked around the world in a variety of areas including graphic design, events management, and advertising (in addition to running her own business) and completed her marketing and design degree at Curtin University of Technology in Western Australia.  In addition to print marketing she is passionate about social media and online technologies – specifically their application to the business environment. Utilising the Australian First Home Owners Grant Cheryl purchased her first home at an early age before moving to New Zealand and remains an avid property investor today.

Graeme Fraser

Head of Agency Operations New Zealand

Graeme joins the corporate team at Ray White with over 30 years of senior management experience in the financial services and real estate industries. He has particular strengths in general management, sales, planning and business growth and performance. Graeme spent eight years at Harcourt’s, in both the national management team and business ownership; two years in Blenheim as a principal/partner in Century 21 whilst looking after his ailing parents; and five years with Harvey’s as a regional manager in both Wellington and Auckland. More recently Graeme has been with Premium Real Estate for four years as General Manager and CEO. During his time in Real Estate, Graeme has built a successful track record in residential, rural/viticulture, commercial and property management. personal and office performance. Graeme is impressed with Ray White – the brand, the leadership, its growth in tough times, its systems and people, and is looking forward to working with franchise owners in the Auckland region to further consolidate and grow Ray White’s market share. Graeme is married with two sons and four grandchildren. He has been actively involved in sport, both as a player and administrator, and has a strong interest in community matters.

Keith Ashkettle

New Zealand Franchise Systems Manager

With strong project and change management control, Keith has ten years experience looking after the technology and systems for Ray White New Zealand. Responsible for the implementation of new technologies to the Group Keith not only looks after new office website and technology setup but also mobilisation and business technology solutions in an online space to drive traffic and engagement through digital marketing channels.   An integral part of the management team, Keith provides strategic direction and is involved in all aspects of digital marketing and online presentation from customer relationship management to print delivery – whilst leading digital implementation and development for our Group.

Rae Beale

New Zealand  Central & Lower North Island Business Performance Manager

Rae brings with her a wealth of real estate experience gathered over a 20 year period in the industry.  During her career she has enjoyed many roles starting as a salesperson (specialising in the lifestyle market) in Manawatu,  divestment land sales for Landcorp NZ throughout Wanganui and Taranaki, 3 years as the Training Manager for Harcourts New Zealand in the Northern Region, followed by a venture across the Tasman to establish a joint venture expansion between Brock Real Estate of Adelaide and Harcourts Australia.  After returning to NZ she opened her first real estate office in Tauranga under the Remax brand going on to successfully grow that business into three offices. Within 18 months of her first office opening, she achieved third to top office in New Zealand undoubtedly helped by an impressive recruitment programme. This business was sold in late 2007.
Since then Rae has independently assisted business owners with management/business issues and planning, and branch management. Rae completed her Diploma of Business Studies (Real Estate) at Massey University in 1997; a qualification which opened the doors of diverse opportunities in our industry. She is looking forward to working with the Ray White franchise owners in the Central and Lower North Island region to continue to grow and consolidate Ray Whites market share and expansion.

Sarah Pearce

New Zealand Growth and Relationship Executive

Sarah joined the corporate team in 2011. She holds the role of New Zealand Growth and Relationship Executive, which looks after external growth and recruitment for Ray White. She also suppports internal growth for the group, working with Ray White business owners in specific areas as required, and running the Next Leaders training and mentoring program, which identifies and develops emerging leaders within the group. In 2013 Sarah introduced YPIRE (Young Professionals in Real Estate) into NZ and developed it to where it is today. She continues to champion this open-industry initiative from behind the scenes. In 2014, Sarah included Ray White North Shore as a specialised part of her role, focusing on collective strength and commitment as their mantra for growth in the area.

Stephanie Watson

New Zealand Franchise Operations Manager

Stephanie joined the Ray White Corporate team in 2007. Her extensive corporate experience assists in the development of formal relationships between corporate staff in New Zealand and Australia, New Zealand franchises, our clients, and financial members. Stephanie oversees all internal and external franchise liaison – including maintaining legal documentation for new and existing franchisees, the on-boarding process for new offices, the implementation and maintenance of our awards tracking system, and financial reporting and New Zealand network performance statistics.

Zac Snelling

New Zealand Business Performance Executive – Property Management

Zac joins the Ray White corporate team in the role of Property Management Performance Manager after working within the Ray White family since 2007 in variety of property management roles.  Zac commenced his career with Ray White after first studying at Massey University towards a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in property valuation. In 2008 Zac was awarded the Property Manager of the Year Award and the number 3 Rookie of the Year Award as well as achieving Premier status in both 2008 and 2009 during his time as a property manager with Ray White Taylor Rentals. In 2010 Zac took on the role of senior property manager at Ray White Ellerslie. During his time there Zac helped almost double the rent roll as well as helping the office grow its property management reputation and market share, leading to the office being awarded the number 3 office nationally in 2012. Zac has a passion for people and looks forward to engaging with our nationwide network of property managers and business owners to help them achieve continued success and growth.
