Ray White extends Super Gold
Ray White is pleased to announce that we have accepted a further business partnership with Supergold Card.
We originally joined the SuperGold Card membership when the government first launched the programme in 2007. There are over 527,000 people who are eligible for the card and this continues to grow by 35,000 each year.
The card is sent out to New Zealand residents who are aged 65 years or over, or those who are receiving superannuation or the veteran’s pension. This group is automatically enrolled in the SuperGold Card programme and it gives holders access to a wide range of business discounts and facilitates access to government and local council entitlements and concessions. The card can be utilised in Ray White by a potential client showing the card at time of listing to receive the company discount. Members should be aware that the card is increasingly being used and offered by Ray White members. In total last year we had over 100 referrals come to us through the SuperGold Card and this continues to increase each year. Every individual office is listed on the SuperGold website and we are also listed in the latest information pack that has been sent to all SuperGold Card members this year.
Ray White offers a 10% discount to all card holders who choose our company. For further information visit the SuperGold Card website
Queenstown is Top Office
Ray White has been positioned in the Queenstown market for just on five years. Over that time the business has made steady progress whereby today it is considered to be one of the market leaders. Last month the office achieved the top position in New Zealand.
In speaking with one of the business owners, Bas Smith, he attributed the result to a consistent focus on listing and marketing for the business. The brand awareness he said has continued to grow with their market share and the fact that momentum is creating momentum.
As part of the month’s sales there was a mixture from a $300,000 unit in Cardrona through to a large development site of just over $3 million. The office has attracted a number of top people who have made a difference to the business. Mary Turnbull recently joined the office from Locations and Bas said that her focus and leadership was already showing dividends.
Ray White NZ sales up 50% in October
The Ray White Group in New Zealand recorded a 50 per cent increase in property sales during October, 2009, compared to the same period last year.

Mr Smith said the Auckland market had the greatest rise for the month of 55 per cent, with total sales in excess of $205 million.
”The top five Ray White offices for last month nationwide were Ponsonby, Manukau, City Apartments, Remuera and Kingsland,” Mr Smith said.

Mr Smith said Ray White also had a significant boost in turnover on the upper South Island.

Ray White offices support Amazing Grace
The Ray White Dunedin and Mosgiel teams have recently found a very good cause to support. During the Otago Woman’s Expo over the past weekend the Dunedin and Mosgiel Teams utilized their presence to not only promote their services, but also to raise money for Grace Hughes. ABC Photosigns have also assisted by providing some stunning banners to highlight Grace’s story. Grace, for no apparent physical reason has never eaten and has been nil by mouth since she was born. Grace and her family are planning to go to Graz in Austria to visit a specialist hospital that can help children who do not eat. However to do that they need to raise $50,000. Being able to eat would be life changing for Grace and assist her learning and development, particularly her speech. As a baby Grace was fed milk via a nasal tube and had difficulty keeping any liquids down. Grace, after an operation when she was a year old, is now able to receive food via a tube into her stomach. Grace’s story was recently aired on 20/20. You can view the 20/20 story by visiting: tvnz.co.nz/20-20-news/nil-mouth-2840892/video. Auckland / North Shore Quarterly Awards
Just over 300 people attended the Auckland Cityside and North Shore quarterly awards last week. The evening was headlined by the Elite members receiving their recognition. We also presented our latest Premier members with their awards. Our market share through each of the zones in Auckland has edged up and is now at 19.1% collectively. One of the areas we talked about was the growth in the West zone which is now the highest market share in Auckland. The quarter results saw the highest production rate for just on two years and the number one salesperson for the quarter in the Cityside was Ruth Hawes from Kingsland, while on the North Shore, Marcus Lee of Milford, took the top award. The other feature of the night was the recognition that Goodwin Realty received at the National Property Management Conference in being a finalist and effectively named the number one property management business for the industry in Auckland. Pictured here is Marcus Lee receiving his Elite award from Carey Smith.
10 Years Ago Today
It was early on a Saturday morning that I went down to the news agency in Mt Albert to collect what was one of the first New Zealand Herald real estate sections in tabloid. But what made this day more remarkable was the fact that our company had officially changed its name to the public through a White Out statement of 30 pages to now be known as Ray White Real Estate.
Exactly 10 years ago we became Ray White. There was a period of history before this that involved two brands; United and Ray White United. But it really wasn’t until we were brave enough to run with Ray White that we started to get traction. It was our sales team who drove the change to Ray White. It gave them consistency in their presentations; it gave them the ability to draw from a greater history; and most importantly it offered a future to our salespeople when they were talking with vendors.
At that time we had 71 offices and we were turning over just under $600 million a year. Today we produce 10 times that turnover and our business has doubled adding 70 offices and 650 salespeople. It is one of those moments where we can quietly reflect on our success as it is just a line in the sand. The next 10 years we have so much to look forward to as the real estate industry redefines itself into a value and service offering that will be recognised in the community to be of greater need.
Thank you to our foundation members and to all those who continue to entrust Ray White with their future career. The best years are ahead of us.
Ray White Royal Oak Recruitment Drive
With the market showing some strong signs of recovery, Ray White Royal Oak owners Martin Honey and Rohan Thompson have embarked on a recruitment drive that has had some remarkable results. Over the past 3 months the duo has attracted 9 salespeople to join their already successful team.

The Royal Oak office joined Ray White in February this year and is located in the heart of the Royal Oak Mall. Martin and Rohan attribute their recruitment success to several factors. Firstly, they provide a modern and stylish office for their team to feel proud of; and secondly, Martin feels very strongly about training his team and spends a lot of time with all new salespeople teaching them the finer details of real estate. These two factors combined have proven to be a winning formula. In addition to this they are now committed to holding a recruitment night every month to showcase the power of the Ray White brand and what the Royal Oak office can provide to new people joining them.
