Ray White Extends Agreement with Trade Me
The Ray White Group were the first national group to become members of the Trade Me Property website in 2005 and are proud to announce the further extension to their agreement with Trade Me, which will take the Group’s membership beyond 10 years.
Trade Me is the leading website in New Zealand, with almost one in three web users visiting the site on a consistent basis. The property site has grown to be the leader in the market, displaying the majority of the industries web content.

Since joining, Ray White has been the number one supplier of property to Trade Me and with the extension of their agreement the total network will continue to supply every listing on behalf of our vendors and our members also have the opportunity to place all rental properties on Trade Me Rentals.
Carey Smith, Chief Executive of Ray White New Zealand, said “The growth of online has been staggering over the last five years. The ability for those in real estate mode to get an understanding of real estate and the current activity has increased dramatically. The access to the web, the way property is now presented, the broadness of the content has all meant that the web is now a key part of the marketing piece of every property, being for sale or for rent. We have always seen Ray White as being the industry leader in technology and the decision to rejoin Trade Me as a group is essential to our short and long term view of online marketing. “
Brendan Skipper, Head of Trade Me Property, said “Ray White re commitment of their total membership to their site was a clear endorsement of Trade Me’s position in online property marketing. We believe in providing both the community and the real estate industry the best in property marketing and we are thrilled that Ray White continues to recognise the collective value of Trade Me.”

The Ray White Legislation Handbook
Ray White is the only national franchise group todate to bring together, in conjunction with Thomson Reuters, the Real Estate Legislation Handbook which includes the REAA Rules and Guides.
As part of our ongoing requirement for Ray White members to be providing the highest professional standards to the public, our group has embarked on lifting awareness of obligations of agents through total membership of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand and also the issue of our Real Estate Legislation Handbook to each Ray White office.

The contents of the handbook include the professional Conduct and Client Care Rules 2009, the New Zealand Residential Property Agency Agreements Guide, the New Zealand Residential Property Sale and Purchase Agreements Guide, together with the Table of Statutes and Regulations.
The legislation handbook is the first to combine all of the cross reference Acts and Guides together and is also linked with the complete real estate legislation which include the Real Estate Agents Act 2008, the Audit Regulations 2009, the Complaints and Discipline Regulations 2009, the Duties of Licensees Regulations 2009 and the Licensing Regulations 2009.
Ray White would like to acknowledge Thomson Reuters, who have consolidated this guide into an easy to follow volume of key legislation for our members to use. Please see here for a copy of the information included in the Real Estate Agents Legislation Handbook.

Ray White Website Shows Increase
Ray White recently launched its new national website together with 135 local office websites in mid May 2011. The recent Google analytics report for the collective Ray White websites showed that during the past month there have been a total of 241,228 visits to our sites. Of those 35% came from direct traffic, 19% came from referring sites, with the balance coming from search engines.
One of the changes to the referring sites shows that Facebook is now the highest referrer for the Ray White Group for individual properties that are visited from a primary referral source. During the past 12 months Facebook has consistently moved up the rankings and is now a clear number one referrer to our company website. Another area of interest in 2010 for the same period the average visitor viewed 3.3 pages and stayed on our site 2.59 minutes. In a snapshot that was taken last week for the same period, our total visitors has increased by 33%, with the average pages viewed just under doubling to 6.37 and the average time on our site has also increased substantially to 4.32 minutes.
Collectively this shows the consistent and ongoing optimization that the Ray White Group has been putting into their web platform to maintain one of the leading positions in the industry.
Keith Ashkettle, head of technology for Ray White New Zealand, said that two key indicators for visitors were the speed of the site and the rich content of their experience when they come to the site. “Our property display now has integrated features which include school zones, a full suite of mapping and community information. This has translated into the visitor spending more time on our site to get much greater detail of the property they are showing interest in.” He went on to say that the enquiry rate from the local Ray White sites has also increased substantially and this has been a highlight in the response to our new platform.
The Ray White Group partner with Trade Me Property, realestate.co.nz and also have total membership to the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand. The new web platform is designed to respond at a national, local and individual level and this has kept Ray White as one of the industry leaders in technology in the real estate agency business.

Record Price in Raglan
Ray White Raglan have successfully completed the highest priced property sale in the area on Wainui Road, Raglan over looking Manu Bay for a price of $1.8 mil. With stunning Ocean views the property was described as anexceptional and superbly crafted designer home with six bedrooms and three living areas situated on 873m2 of prime real estate with stunning views.
The property was marketed by Dave and Julie Hanna for Auction with an extensive marketing program which included the Waikato Times, premium placement on trademe, local radio advertising and an e-brochure distributed to 850 clients on the office database. Dave Hanna described the sale as being special, he said that in marketing the property there was a lot of interest but given the price indications and the level of interest, finding the actual premium buyer came down to the Auction process and the focused marketing. Given that it was a record sale price in Raglan in today’s environment it made the sale even more important and shows the confidence that Raglan continues to attract from buyers.
The vendor of the property, said it was a fantastic result, they were pleased to be able to get a sale after having the property on the market with several agents previously. They went on to complement the Ray White Raglan team, for their unassuming determination and their ability to negotiate the highest price for us. Ray White Raglan is the market leader in the area, with a market share now of just over 60% the office has already marketed 28 Auctions so far this year, and have a high success rate.

City Apartments and Roebucks Sales Merger
Ray White City Apartments have been the undisputed leader in the CBD residential field for three years. They maintain a consistent market share of 25% to 30% in apartment sales and have just over 700 properties under management with Chas Wilson Rentals.
This week we are pleased to announce a significant merger which will further enhance the market share of Ray White City Apartments. The long established agency of Roebucks has merged their sales division with Ray White City Apartments. This will grow the overall sales team to 41 and increase the current listing portfolio of Ray White City Apartments. Ray White City Apartments and Roebucks will continue to operate their property management businesses as they do today, with the only change in the property management being the branding.
The current premises of Roebucks will continue to be utilised by both companies, however it will be re-branded in the Ray White livery.
Principal Officer of Roebucks, Brad Roebuck, said “The merger of our sales division with Ray White will ensure that the market share that Roebucks had successfully built up over the past three years is enhanced.” He went on to say that “Roebucks have a strong integrated business and with that we have built have a database which when applied to the Ray White systems will maximise its outcome. The property management of Roebucks will remain as an independent business providing the same personalised service but we will have the border reach of Ray White for our property management business.”
Phil Horrobin, co-owner of Ray White City Apartments, said that the merger was fantastic news. “We have strived to position our business as a market leader in the area of city apartments and having the Roebucks team join, along with a number of other successful salespeople who have recently joined, will give us that lift in market share and ultimately provide a stronger presence in the area of city apartments. The new Britomart based office will allow a further 12 salespeople to become part of our team and that will give us over 40 salespeople together with a strong property management base.”
Carey Smith, New Zealand Chief Executive of Ray White, said that Ray White has always had a strong presence in city apartments. “The merger with Roebucks is significant and will allow further growth to take place in the sales area while giving property management a boost with the presence of the Roebucks portfolio. Ray White City Apartments is one of the top offices for Ray White in sales and this growth will see them move to the top office in their core trade area.”
