Kohimarama Re-Positions their Branding
John Halstead and Peter Best, the owners of the Ray White Kohimarama office, have recently re-branded their business to the latest Ray White livery.

In talking with Peter Best, he has been running the agency from that location for the last 18 years. It is the only real estate office in Kohimarama and is located on the beachfront next to the cafe and residential areas. Over the years there has been a number of real estate agencies start only to fold. Peter has maintained a consistent Ray White profile in the area and ensures that the business has all the latest Ray White material. Peter said going through the re-branding exercise gives his business a definite lift. “When the office and our material that we hand out to the vendors sit together with media we have much better recognition in the marketplace. I am pleased with our clean look as it is in keeping with the area and the branding that we profile into the marketplace.”
Ray White Howick’s New Location
Three months ago Bob Mountfort and Neil Baker took the bold step of deciding to re-locate their business in Howick to a new central location which in capacity is three times the size of their previous location. The Howick shopping area has a village feel about it and the new Ray White office is well positioned, with a high pedestrian count and backing onto a major car park area.
The premises have a wide frontage in which over 70 properties can be displayed in an A2 format. Inside the office there are interview areas for rentals and sales together with a boardroom area that will be used for seminars and auction presentations. In speaking with Neil and Bob, they commented how proud they were of the new premises and while it is a substantial commitment to their agency business, they believe that their current market share of 24.6% should continue to increase so they effectively become the market leaders through the Eastern Beaches area. The Howick office once again becomes a flagship business, not only for the Mountfort Group, but also for the industry throughout East Auckland.
Ponsonby Office Lights Up
The Ray White Ponsonby office has moved to the new branding of Ray White.

Last Wednesday night the office was completed and “switched on”. It is an image that is setting new standards in the industry. The Ponsonby office is located towards the western end of Ponsonby Road and has a high profile aspect to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Their window displays use the large VIP signs together with A1 size posters. In addition to this, they have their property management business in the building beside their sales business.
Not only has the office completed the external of their premises, but have ensured they have all the latest Ray White material. This office is at the forefront of e-marketing in the use of websites and newsletters.
In addition to this the Ponsonby website www.rwponsonby.co.nz is optimised to be one of the leading property websites for Auckland and New Zealand when property is searched on Google. In speaking with Bryce Earwaker, Principal of the Ponsonby office, he said the image of the shop is important to the direction of the office and it also reflects the involvement we have as a proud local business.
Ray White at the Auckland Home Show
Simon and Glynn Pritchett, husband and wife team at the Kohimarama office, manned a Ray White stand in Hall 9 at the Auckland Home Show which ran from Wednesday 9th to Sunday 13th September. Simon, a well known interior designer, has had an association with the show for over 18 years, and saw this as an ideal opportunity to not only promote his real estate partnership, but Ray White Kohimarama and the greater Ray White Group, including Loan Market. Up to 55,000 people attend this show annually and it is a great promotional opportunity for Simon and Glynn and to also promote a cross section of the office’s listings and services. Simon expected to make some good listing and buyer contacts and also to make a number of referrals to other offices as a result of enquiry.

Top NZ Elite Members Awarded
Recently the Auckland sales team came together for their quarterly awards at the Floating Pavilion. Part of the evening was dedicated to the Premier and Elite members for 2009. We welcomed our first Elite members for the year, having achieved this status at the end of June. Pictured are Lesley Hawes (Kingsland), Liz Parker (Whangaparaoa) and Marie Raos (Howick). The Elite status is the highest achievement in our company and these members continue to be outstanding contributors to the success of our company.
Lesley Hawes has been the number one salesperson in Ray White New Zealand for the past five years. Liz Parker, who is based at our Whangaparaoa office, is the current number two for Ray White New Zealand. Marie Raos, who has her business in the Eastern Beaches of Auckland, is a consistent Elite performer and has continually achieved the top 2% positioning in our company. There are 35 members on target for the Elite status and they were recognised at Premier level throughout this week.
Celebrating 20 Years with Ray White
John Pope started in the Real Estate industry 20 years ago, as at the 13th of July. He started in the Tauranga office of Matthewson Real Estate Ltd, and
has worked there ever since, only changing over to the current Matthewson Real Estate Ltd Company at Bayfair, under the Branch Manager of Steve Fagan, when that office opened in October 2008. He is a foundation member of Ray White, and has won numerous national awards over this time. One that does stick in his memory is winning a week on Brian White’s boat, sailing around the Whitsunday Islands off the coast of Australia as a prize for the most sales in the country. John recently shouted a lovely morning tea in the Bayfair office to celebrate his 20 years with Ray White.

NZ Loan Market shows value
Tony Sheirlink of Ray White Browns Bay recently asked Stuart Matheson from the Loan Market North Shore to attend three open homes for properties he believed would have a lot of interest and the possibility of multiple offers. He was right!
The first property they received together, 5 offers on the Sunday night. Tony wanted them to have the confidence to offer their best offer, whether that was price or fewer conditions. The 2nd property, a deceased estate, and the 3rd an auction. Tony and Stuart are working together to have buyers in a position to bid on the day. Stuart secured three appointments and also gave the buyer confidence as to what their preapproval meant, resulting in them making their offer unconditional.
Tony said ‘the vendor of the Auction property was really pleased with the Team approach and the fact Stuart was there that to sell her property’ Tony added ’that it was a bonus as Stuart was around also helped with the overall security of the property’.
Moerewa Northland Auction

Northland Auction
Ray White Northern Offices had a heartwarming Auction recently, where the Public Trust instructed the Paihia/Kerikeri offices to conduct an auction of a deceased estate 3 bedroom house in Moerewa. Joe Hoey of the Paihia office conducted a number of open homes, where good attendances indicated a range of potential purchasers. The reserve was duly set and auctioneer Mark Saxton of Ray White Kaitaia called for opening bids.
When the bidding stalled the highest bidder called for the attention of the auctioneer and stated “This is not the price I want to pay for this property, out of respect to the Whanau of the deceased previous owner I would like to pay more”. The auctioneer asked him what price he would be prepared to pay, the bidder then offered a higher figure which reached the reserve and the property was knocked down to the rounded applause by all those in attendance.
